RULES

(read it carefully to avoid penalties!!!)

  1. The Stade Nivellois is responsible for the organization and throughout the tournament.


  2. The I.R.B. rules will apply during the matches, expect for the following points. A certain number of variations to the normal rugby rules have been added to accelerate the game and for it to be more fair.


  3. Before the tournament starts (at the latest, 15 minutes before the first game of each team), the captains or coaches will provide the name list of the 12 players of the team. Only those players* will be allowed to play for this team. In case only 8 players would be available for the team, due to the defection of 4 injured players (certified by the tournament medical center), the team will be able to call for the “player exchange” managed by the tournament board. Any modification to the list must be communicated to the tournament board.


  4. To avoid any loss of time during the tournament, the toss that should precede each match, will take place during the half-time of the preceding game. If a team is late to the toss, it will be sanctioned by a penalty try. Notice that a game will start as soon as the preceding one is finished. Any late team will be sanctioned by a penalty try.


  5. Duration of a game: 2x7 min, and a 1 min at half time for rest. The final will last 2x10 min, with 2 min of rest. In case of drawn during a decisive game (second round, quarter or semi-final), the winning team will be the one who scores the first during extra time. Extra time will be of 5 min periods, and the team will switch sides at half-time.


  6. After the preliminary round, a classification will be made: 1 to 5 (5 firsts of each group), 6 to 10 (5 seconds of each group), 11 to 15 (5 thirds of each group), 16 to 20 (5 fourths of each group). This classification will take into account the excluded players (yellow and red cards), the goal average (points scored against points conceded), and is the equality still persist, toss. This classification will determine the 8 team to take part to the Cup, the 8 teams to take part to the Plate and the 8 teams to take part to the Bowl.


  7. Any kick will be a drop.


  8. After a try, the kick off will be done by the scoring team. Each missed kick off* will be sanctioned by a kick at the middle of the field for the opponent.
      * a) The ball does not reach the 10m line, unless an opponent plays it;
      b) The ball goes directly outside the pitch (without rebound on the field);
      c) A player is in front of the kicker;
      d) The ball reaches the in-goal and is made dead by the opponent or goes directly out the in-goal.

  9. After a try, there is no transformation (except during the finals), but a kick off by the scoring team.


  10. Any penalty is played by hand.


  11. During a match, only 3 replacements are allowed. A replaced player cannot come back on the pitch until the end of the match.


  12. A player who has been excluded cannot take part to the rest of the competition.


  13. A team which has aligned a player, who is not registered on the player list given to the tournament board before the beginning of the first game, will be withdrawn for the games where the player was aligned.


  14. If a situation that has not been anticipated by the rules occurs, the decision will be taken by the tournament board, according to the rugby spirit.
